HERO set out to supply the Film, TV & Media industry with a comprehensive costume facility that is premium quality, authentic, and a viable local resource contributing to the ongoing success and recognition of our industry.
HERO was established in 1992 with the purchase of the Max Studios costumes. We then embarked on a program of encouraging the recycling of wardrobe from production companies, designers and stylists. Our objective has been to create an international resource for Film and Media professionals who require authentic costumes and accessories for film and television productions. Today we have thousands of items in our 600sqm warehouse in Leichhardt. HERO’s staff manage the daily hires as well as assessing and cataloguing additions to our collection.
Champions of Australian film, HERO have been an energetic presence in the industry as well as a driving force in the establishment of Sydney’s Canal Road Film Centre. We have worked on most Australian productions in the last two decades, from our first, the ‘Stomp’ apples commercial, through contributions to many landmark productions, including Muriel’s Wedding, Moulin Rouge, King Kong, Dirty Deeds, The Matrix Trilogy, Ned Kelly, Australia, The Pacific, Red Dog, Cloud Street, The Sapphires, The Daughter, Peter Allen, Peter Brock, Top of the Lake, Hacksaw Ridge, Breath, Alien Covenant, Jasper Jones and countless other movies, series and television commercials.
We understand the time pressures and demands of being on-location, and we pride ourselves on the service and support that we offer our productions. Call us to find out how HERO can make your job easier, or check out our stock pages.
